The studying curriculum
Classes are mainly divided into 2 types. In “Ginou” (practical skill) classes you will practice driving an automobile. Traffic rules are taught in lessons of “Gakka” (theoretical) classes. Both are 50-minute-classes.
Practical classes are held 2 or 3 times a day. You will be able to practice your driving inside the school up to 2 times a day, and once you become good enough, you will be able to practice outside on the roads 3 times a day.
On the other hand, theoretical classes are held 2 to 5 times a day. Although this will depend on the time schedule for each day, it is common that these classes start at 9 a.m. and finish at between 4 to 6 p.m..
Textbooks
Textbooks will be provided by our schools. Textbook costs are included in the tuition fees. There is no need to buy them.
In addition, before the beginning of the Gasshuku Menkyo course, the original textbooks will be given free to everyone who has applied so they can study in advance.
The technical terms in the textbook are explained not only in Japanese but also translated into English and Vietnamese. Because of this, you can study in your mother language and you will remember the lessons better.
The temporary driver’s license test
There are 2 tests, which are a practical driving test and a written test. If you pass both of them, you will advance to Level 2.
After the classes (1)
You shall have free time in the hotel/inn after each day’s classes are over.
It’s alright to even go shopping. However, it is forbidden to go outside during certain time. This rule is to make sure other students are not disturbed.
After the classes (2)
The temporary license written test contains 50 questions in Japanese, which shall take place on the 7th day (or later) for AT cars, and on the 9th day (or later) for MT cars. You will have to choose 〇 or × in your answer sheet and you will pass if at least 45 of your answers are correct.
According to foreign students, this test is the most difficult. Therefore, they often study even when they return to the hotel or inn until the test takes place.
Additionally, in case you fail the test, you can take it again on the following day. For each time you fail, you shall be 1 day further from graduation. Tests cannot be taken on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays. So if you failed on a Friday, your graduation would be delayed for 2 days.
